A journey through space
What is INFINITY?
INFINITY is a musical project that started in the summer of 2016 and was finished and released in September 2017.
I set out to create a unique musical experience that would take the listener on a vast journey through many different soundscapes and ambient landscapes.
The finished album contains 19 tracks with a total runtime of about 90 minutes.
The ambient soundscapes of space
The key theme to INFINITY is exactly that: the infinite vastness of the universe, which us explored through a vast array of different styles and genres, all blending together in a big soundscape.
A heavy emphasis on slow and dreamy synthesizers as well as an orchestral approach in several tracks creates a deep atmosphere that creates its very own and unique musical landscape.
The key tracks to the album is the 11 minute title track "INFINITY" and the equally as long split track "Black Hole". Around these tracks, the rest of the labum is organized in a way that very easily switches tone and emotion to always
A year long journey
INFINITY took almost a year to complete and as most of the track on the final album are presented in their chronologically order, the final peace is also a journey through a year of my own life.
All tracks within the album came to be as a direct result of things that happened to me in that year and in that way show quite a lot of my own emotional state.
It was important to me to keep the album on a personal level, to let the songs exist out of my own emotion and feelings rather than actively creating them.
Throughout this year I often just sat down and started experimenting and if it worked, it would get a spot in the track list.
This slower, more passive work process led to the project taking far longer than originally planned, but it also helped to create a far more personal and unique album that not only creates its very own musical world but also shows my own progression throughout a very eventful and important year of my life.
